Belts and hoses are rubber, and Arizona is hard on rubber. Heat cycles make them brittle long before the mileage suggests they are due, and they rarely give much warning before they let go.

How often do belts and hoses need replacing?
There is no single number, and in Phoenix heat matters more than miles. We inspect them at every visit and tell you when the condition, not the calendar, says replace.
What happens if the serpentine belt breaks?
You lose the alternator, the water pump and power steering at the same moment. Most drivers are stopped within a mile or two.
Is a timing belt the same as a serpentine belt?
No. The serpentine belt drives accessories on the outside of the engine. The timing belt is internal and keeps the valves in step with the pistons, and its failure is usually expensive.
Can you tell a hose is bad just by looking?
Partly. We also squeeze them — a hose that feels soft, spongy or crunchy is failing inside even when the outside looks perfect.
Do you check belts during an oil change?
Yes. Belts, hoses, fluids, filters, tires and brakes are all part of the free multi-point inspection.
Is the work warrantied?
Yes — 24 months or 24,000 miles on parts and labor, whichever comes first.
